opening sequences focus: editing


Match-on-action was used during film to show actions carrying on into the next scene. The main editing techniques used included match-on-action, the use of black and white colour, jump cut, slow motion and layering. the shot transitions include . This would be relevant to our opening sequence as it has given us an outline of what sorts of cuts to include, also due to the fact that the cuts give a certain effect.



The key continuity rules used include match-on-action.  The main editing techniques that were used in this opening sequence were production effects (blood, gunfire, etc.), match-on-action, jump cuts and fading in/fading out. These effects are relevant to our opening sequence as this clip has shown that post-production effects can work well in a film, if applied properly.

In our opening sequence, we will use match-on-action, jump cuts, various time-lapse cuts.
