Iconic sounds in the crime thriller genre

I decided to do some research into what sounds are often used in the crime thriller genre so that we can choose if we want to include any of these sounds in out opening sequence. Firstly looking at the crime genre the most often used sound effect is a police siren as it resembles the police which are mostly related into this genre. secondly the music used often has a fast tempo and high dynamics. the music mainly uses instrumentals for it but there are exceptions where vocals are used, but it mainly focuses on the guitar, bass and drums to make the music fast paced. Secondly for the thriller genre, iconic sound effects used involve, heartbeats, screaming and footsteps. all of these sound effects often build suspense and want the audience to be on the edge of their seat. Music used in thrillers are also fast paced unless it is building suspense where the music starts off slow and then speeds up slowly. In our opening sequence we will use fast paced music during the chase scene, the sound effects of, the heartbeat, police siren, and footsteps as these build suspense which is what we want for the opening sequence so that the audience is drawn in.
